Sony made an announcement that supposedly the PS3 is going to go 3D this summer. Although no one knows exactly how the 3D will turn out on the platform, Sony is planning on releasing 3D for it's platform in conjunction with the release of the 3D BRAVIA LCD sets. The plan is to turn the gaming system into a stereoscopic 3D gaming platform as well as a 3D Blu-ray compatible movie player. This may give Sony the edge over Microsoft and Nintendo, unless the other two have something planned as well. News like this is great for the average consumer because either way it is going to bring us better entertainment at the convenience of our homes, all at the expense of some cash of course.
