LCD-Based Game Controller Patent From Sony

News of Sony patenting an application has revealed that they are working on an LCD-based game controller that will act as a universal game controller that is designed to work with multiple consoles. As seen in the picture above, the touchscreen would be able to accommodate various buttons and layouts for different consoles. Sony mentioned consoles such as the Amiga CD-32 and Atari Jaguar (I think it is safe to assume this was for emulation purposes) in addition to Microsoft and Nintendo. The screen itsef is rumored to have what Sony referred to as a "game controller skin". All of this is still just an application for a patent. Sony as of right now is still probably working on the motion controller they mentioned several times before but it is nice to know new technology such as this is still in the mind's of our developers. What do you guys think?
