Android Marketplace Now Serving Over 30,000 Apps
As per our sources Android Marketplace is now serving 30,000 apps. That is twice the amount of apps that were being offered last year in December. Recently at the MWC, Google CEO Eric Schmidt announced that the company’s partners are now selling over 60,000 Android handsets on a daily basis. With that kind of rate no wonder the Android Marketplace has grown so drastically.
These numbers come directly from Google via MobileCrunch. Android Marketplace still has a lot of catching up to do, considering 140,000 apps announced or the Apple iPad earlier this month. Of course Apple has had a head start, but Android Marketplace has done a good job pushing large quantity of apps to the Marketplace, it would be nice to see some quality apps from them as well.
If you are an Android user, share reviews of your favorite apps with us in the comments section.
