Replace Gmail Ads With Contact Info - Rapportive (Browser Extension)

Many people have stopped from using standard browsers, such as Internet Explorer (for PC users) and Safari (for Mac users) in favor of browsers such as Mozilla's Firefox and Google's Chrome. Both Chrome and Firefox have extentions to further customize the browser to one's liking. Furthermore, many people use Gmail and for those who use both one of the previously mentioned browsers and Gmail have something to look forward to. A new add-on which is available on both known as Rapportive replaces ads on Gmail to contact info about the sender.

After installing it, there's nothing else you need to do for Rapportive. You basically give it a minimum amount of information to get started (such as your name, and email address, via your Google account.) Whenever you open an email afterwards, it cross-references the email of the sender with various social networking sites, and fills the ad space with whatever information it finds. Definitely something neat then those pesky ads.

Some users worry about trusting a third-party add-on with their inbox, but your Gmail credentials don't end up with Rapportive, as you don't ever share your password with the add-on, so it is definitely worth trying out. What do you guys think? If any of you use it, share your thoughts/comments below.
