iPad Jailbreak Rumor Emerge [Part 4]

Rumor has it that members of the iPhone Dev Team have been successful in jailbreaking the iPad in less than a day. They achieved this milestone by porting "Spirit" utility that jailbreaks OS 3.2. As per an earlier announcement by Dev Team member MuscleNerd this solution will also jailbreak OS 3.1.3 running on iPhone and iPodTouch devices.

According to MuscleNerd, the "Spirit" jailbreak will also allow users with iPhone 3GS models with 5.12.01 boot rom to unlock their devices to use with any carrier. As per his tweet -
“the "Spirit" JB will (also) work on 3.1.3 when released.”

“3GS owners benefit from "Spirit" even more than 3G (since 3G is forever JB-able). Also, both 3G/3GS can use next carrier unlock.”
Another member of the iPhone Dev-Team, cdevwill, in a tweet, has shared a picture showing the Cydia running on the jailbroken iPad. Though there is not release date is announced for the jailbreak solution, this shows that the developers in the jailbreak community are working hard to bring us an iPhone\iPodTouch\iPad jailbreak.

While we wait for the OS 4.0 announcement from Apple tomorrow, be sure to backup your ECID\SHSH files, if you are not aware of the process follow our guide here.
