Rumored Mod Allows AT&T SIM To Work on iPad 3G

A user on the ModMyI forums, Melech518 found a simple way for you to mod your sim card to fit on the iPad 3G and work on the 3G network without activating a new data plan. As silly as it sounds, he used an exacto knife to trace out the mini-sim on his iPhone SIM. After cutting it out, he put the SIM in his iPad and entered Settings -> Cellular Data -> APN Settings and changed the APN to “phone” without the quotations.

Another way is to enter Carrier testing mode in iTunes and enter a custom ipcc file. He mentioned using Stealth’s ATT_US_STEALTH.ipcc and mentioned it working like charm as well.

Good luck to those who try out the following idea. Let us know in the comments below if you do end up trying it.
