Analysts Predict Possibility of iPhone Coming to T-Mobile
Despite there being a number of rumors regarding the iPhone landing on Verizon Wireless before the end of the year, analyst Shaw Wu from Kaufman Bros. believes it's more likely that we'l see an AWS 3G version of the iPhone most likely offered by another wireless company such as T-Mobile. Although it may seem like a shocking idea at first, especially considering AT&T's exclusive on the 3G iPad and the impending retail launch of the iPhone 4, Wu believes that Apple seeks to "attack Android more directly" and argues that Apple would need to get the iPhone into the line of carriers who currently boast having Android phones. While the general consensus is around Verizon (which we believe will happen eventually), we continue to believe that T-Mobile USA is the most likely candidate given its use of similar cellular technology as AT&T,” said Wu. He also added "we are picking up that T-Mobile views the iPhone as key in winning back lost customers and as such could be more likely to agree to Apple’s terms.” So what is your opinion? Do you think that this rumor may actually come true? Share your thoughts and comments below!
