Apple and AT&T Canceling Random iPhone 4 Pre-Orders?

Find the cell phone that’s right for you

We aren't sure exactly what is happening but several people have been receiving an iPhone 4 pre-order cancellation email from Apple and AT&T saying that their order could not be authorized. Seems like an issue wit AT&T authorization to us and given all the of the problems that both Apple and AT&T had all week dealing with the large number of pre-orders, we aren't surprised that issues are still occurring.

The email being sent out by Apple is:
Dear Customer,

We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone order. As a result, we had to cancel your iPhone order. To complete the purchase of your iPhone, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T company-owned retail store.

We apologize for this inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team

The email being sent out by AT&T is:

Your iPhone order has been cancelled.

Your credit card has not been charged.

If you believe you have received this email in error, please return to the AT&T store where you placed your order.

Sincerely,

AT&T
