Apple is delivering iPhone 4’s a day early, the company is confirming in emails to some customers.
This is good news for those lucky 600,000 customers who managed to pre-order their units on June 15th with Apple and its carriers brief pre-ordering process last week, when systems seemingly were unable to cope with demand.
Quote:
Dear Apple Store Customer,If you did not pre-order and you want to pick one up at an Apple store or online or from any other distributor you will still have to await official launch day of, June 24. It does mean you may get a chance to see the new iPhones in action a day earlier.
You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.
This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.
In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at Apple Order Status.
Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team
