iPhone 4 Hits eBay - Being Sold For Absurd Prices
As mentioned before, Apple completely sold out of its pre-order launch day iPhone 4s in less than one day even though they had major technical issues with the ordering process. It is now at the point where the second wave is also sold out (due early July) as well. The curent shipping estimate if you order right now is July 14. If you still absolutely want one on or around the launch day, the Internet as always provides an option.
eBay currently has roughly 400 iPhone 4s for sale (both 16GB and 32GB models). Although the device isn't out yet, people are willing to part with the device as soon as they get it on June 24. It all depends how much you are willing to pay them . Currently the cheapest ones are going for $550 for the $199 16GB model and the cheapest 32 GB model is going for $799, a full %500 over the $299 retail price. Although those may seem expensive themselves, they are plenty of absurd prices going around. The iPhone 4 can be "hand delivered" to you by June 27 for a price of $5000, yes $5000 for an iPhone. At least 50 other people are offering to sell theirs for $1,000 or more. Wonder if anyone will buy those.
Since only two days have passed after the initial pre-sale and the expected ship date continues to get pushed back, the prices are bound to get ore ugly. By the launch day hits and people have them in their hands, don't be surprised if some of the iPhones sell for thousands of dollars.
