RedSn0w Jailbreak Updated; Now Offers Verbose Mode and Battery Percentage

Recently the iPhone Dev-Team had posted an update to Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta5 which resolved issues with SMS and Data. And, now the Dev-team has updated RedSn0w 0.9.5 Beta5-2 once again to jailbreak iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non MC model).

RedSn0w 0.9.5 b5-2 features:

  • Individually select whether multitasking and homescreen wallpaper are enabled

  • Battery percentage

  • Verbose boot mode options. (Verbose boot shows you the kernel messages during boot)

Note:

  • Once you enable battery percentage, you actually toggle it off and on via Settings -> General -> Usage.

  • In case you want to change the settings after the jailbreak, simply re-run the RedSn0w again but make sure not to select Cydia again.

RedSn0w 0.9.5 b5-2 supports:

  • iPhone 3G

  • iPod Touch 2G (non-MC models only)

WARNING:

  • Redsn0w is a jailbreak utility, it does NOT provide a carrier unlock. iOS 4 GM comes with newer Baseband 05.13. So, unlockers depending on either UltraSn0w or BlackSn0w better avoid this update.

  • If you’re new to the game or do NOT know what you’re doing, better wait for the official jailbreak tool to come out.
