AT&T Giving Away Free MicroCell Service To “Valuable Customers”
Recently, Engadget received news from a reader that AT&T is giving their "most valuable customers" free range-boosting femtocells by giving them a free no-strings-attached 3G MicoCell. The AT&T customer received an old-fashioned paper letter in the mail offering his family a the 3G MicroCell. All the customer had to do was drive down to a local AT&T store where he was given a 3G MicroCell with no explanation from the dumbfounded reps at the retail store. The customer did mention that his calls did frequently drop at home but he did not complain much about it and paid his $180 per month for his family plan. According to him, the only reason he feels he might be one to qualify for the free 3G MicroCell is because his contract was set to expire in the near future. We are currently waiting to hear news from AT&T about the whole issue but you can check out the letter and device below:
