Even though the smartphone isn't officially released yet, the US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S (T-Mobile Vibrant and AT&T Captivate) have already been rooted. Thanks to justadude from the XDA developer's forums everyone who already has theirs or is about to get one this Thursday can root their phones. The best part about this root is that you only need to download the file, load it, and boot into Samsung's recovery.
