Well, we all knew it was a matter of time before it happened and it finally did. The famous Chatroulette-like app, iChatr has been removed from the App Store by Apple because people were apparently inappropriately exposing themselves. Apple's app aproval team somehow forgot about it when it took Apple a gruesome 8 days to take it off the App Store. Ironically, its not like they didn't know about it with all the press coverage it got.
The folks over at 148Apps received an official statement from the developers, heres what it said:
"The iChatr application has currently been removed from the App Store due to reports of a number of users exposing themselves during the random video chat sessions. We are currently discussing possible solutions to the problem with Apple."It's honestly not a surprise at all that people were pulling the usual Chatroulette style chats but we can imagine how much worse it might be with the portability of the iPhone 4 *shudders* What is surprising was the fact that Apple approved the app in the first place. It feels that Apple didn't realize the concept as the review team didn't have much time to chat using the program. If you want to give your front-facing camera a go, don't forget you can do so by calling 1-888-FACETIME.
