UK Carrier O2 Announces iPhone 4 Early Upgrade Offer

The UK carrier O2 has announced their upgrade policy for Apple's iPhone 4, including offers for existing suscribers who want to jump ship onto Apple's new smartphone before their contract ends. Between June 24th and July 24th, existing suscribers still within their contract can upgrade to the iPhone by paying £20 ($29) per month remaining in a one-off charge. Alternatively you can transfer to pay-as-you-go and buy an iPhone 4 that way, though you will need to probably stop paying for your monthly agreement. Finally, there are early upgrade bonuses depending on your customer standing in O2's "Priority List" (which depends on monthly spending and loyalty); that can grant you up to a six month early upgrade. There is an O2 early upgrade calculator which works out how much you'll be paying depending on how close to your contract renewal date you are. Of course, with Vodafone, Orange, and T-Mobile all planning to offer the iPhone 4 in the UK, there's likely to be plenty of competition there. UK Carrier O2 Removes References of iPhone 4G Video Calling Feature

A few days ago, Apple’s U.K. iPhone partner, O2 dropped a hint regarding iPhone 4G video calling feature. They had made a correction and removed the references of the video calling feature from their site.

Currently, iPhones and iPods aren't designed for this much-in-demand feature. So, naturally, the O2 listing turned heads and sparked widespread interest - even among those didn't see the listing but heard about it through the grapevine. As soon as 02 discovered the leak - or the error - the UK mobile powerhouse quickly removed the entry and offered a statement of correction saying: "The iPhone section of our website states video calling is charged at the same price as voice calls. We can confirm that this was listed in error. We will be amending our website shortly to clarify this."

Though the mistake has been corrected, many still believe that Apple and O2 are just trying to cover up the story, and that the 4th generation iPhone’s ability to make video calls will be announced upon its release.
