iPhone 4 Spotted At Walmart

As we all know, Walmart will be among the handful of retailers to carry the iPhone 4 on the first day of availability - an unprecedented move in the history of new iPhone releases. Best Buy and Radio Shack will similarly have the device come Thursday. An unknown "tipster" sent Engadget the above photo from one of a stash that's being delivered to Walmart stores in preparation for launch.

Apple has also been contacting those lucky 600,000 souls who managed to place a pre-order for the device to let them know they can expect their new smartphones on June 23 -- one whole day before official launch day.

The official iPhone 4 pre-orders start on June 15th which is just around the corner but nothing is more upsetting than finding out you aren't going to get your new phone on launch day. The best way to get your iPhone 4 as soon as possible is to pre-order online from the comfort of your home at Apple's site. This will guarantee delivery on launch day without any hassles of dealing with lines, riots, or uniformed sales clerks. The pre-orders will probably go live after the typical "we'll be back soon" outage, but it's unclear whether everything will be setup around midnight or tomorrow morning during business hours. We recommend waiting until midnight Eastern time tonight, but if you don't see the "We'll be back soon" then it will most likely be up early in the morning. Much like the iPad pre-orders, which kicked off at 5:30AM Pacific Time, Apple might do the same for the iPhone 4. Physically going to an Apple store is another option but sources tell us that you will just be directed to go to a computer and to Apple's website anyway.

You can also pre-order at AT&T stores but this doesn't sound like an option that too many will want to take up because you will be required to have your credit card authorized for the full amount upfront and according to the locations we contacted, you won't be guaranteed availability on launch day but instead on the 25th (the day after the launch). AT&T's website says that the June 24 delivery will be available to both consumer and business consumers but the carrier has not mentioned what time the pre-orders will start so keep checking on their website for further news.

Furthermore, news has it that Apple has blocked off third-party retailers from taking pre-orders altogether tomorrow. The previously mentioned RadioShack, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart stores at various locations have started to change the previously announced information and are saying that they will start taking pre-orders sometime by the end of the week as opposed to tomorrow so for anyone wants to make sure they get their iPhone 4 on launch day, pre-order on Apple's website.

Best Buy, Radio Shack, & Wal-Mart Also To Sell iPhone 4 On June 24

In a message posted on Twitter, Radio Shack has announced that their stores will start taking iPhone 4 pre-orders starting June 15. The sale shall commence in the stores from June 24 (the day when the new iPhone is officially launched to the public.)

CNET reported that Wal-Mart will be another retailer to start offering iPhone 4 from June 24th. It should be noted though that this is the first time when the company is introducing the iPhone on the official launch day. Unlike Radio Shack though, Wal-Mart has indicated that their stores will not be taking iPhone 4 pre-orders.

Best Buy is yet to make any official announcement about the availability of iPhone 4 in their stores but sources have revealed that the iPhone 4 shall indeed be sold at Best Buy from June 24th and onward as well. Furthermore, there will be a minimum of 30 units of iPhone 4 32GB and 15 units of iPhone 4 16GB models stocked in each of the Best Buy stores. There is no word on whether Best Buy will offer pre-orders for customers as of yet.

The iPhone 4 should also be available in AT&T and Apple Stores and we are wondering whether Apple will continue to draw the long lines of people ahead of day launch like all of their previous products as third party channels take part on launch day sales.
