RIM Updates Device Compatibility List for OS 5.0

RIM updated their Knowledge Base Article (KB17984), that details which BlackBerry devices would be compatible with OS 5.0.

The old compatibility list :

• BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8200 series smartphones
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 smartphones
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphones
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphones
• BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphones
• BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 series smartphones
• BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphones

The new compatibility lists these:

• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphone
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphone
• BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphone
• BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphone
• BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 smartphone
• BlackBerry® Storm™ 9530 smartphone

The Curve 8520 and Storm 9530 were added, the Pearl Flip 8200 series and Curve 8330 were removed. If you recall OS 5.0 did in fact get released for the Curve 8330 and the Bold 9700 ships with it so we are not sure why the list does not display them.
