We all were excited when Game Stop announced that they will be selling standalone 250GB hard drives For the Xbox 360. Today, Microsoft has confirmed that they will be selling the 250GB hard drive for $129.00 as a standalone. The “Make More Room for Entertainment” advertisement popped up on the Xbox 360 dashboard today, urging console owners to head to a participating retailer and pick up a brand new standalone 250GB hard drive, one that comes complete with a transfer cable for securing data during the upgrade.”
Although $130 is still far off from being a reasonable price for a 250GB hard drive, it matches with Microsoft’s unrelenting price point and is acceptable compared to the previous pricing and availability of Xbox 360 hard drive space. It’ll prove to be useful for many avid 360 users who have been trying to keep up to date with their games downloadable content, especially as more and more games are released. Microsoft’s trend of releasing larger storage units and replacing their older more useless storage units (Remember those 512MB Memory Units?) seems to make sense as they are heading towards the direction of bringing people more convenience for their entertainment (games, movies, television shows, music, etc.) Will this really be effective though after the announcement that revealed external storage accessibility that was made last week by Microsoft?
