Google has been building up its Map client for Android devices at a very fast pace, much like Apple iPhone beta’s they have Google has been turning versions around in matter of days. The new version offers – improved screen with swipe gestures when moving between search results, it also offers a new latitude widget for home screen and supports multiple Google accounts.
The most noticeable feature of 4.1 update is live wallpaper for Android 2.1 phones that’s a live map of your location, the effect of a constant GPS connect on the battery is yet to be tested. The update is available from the Android Market for devices running Android OS 1.6 and up. Google has delightfully specified that the live wallpaper feature works on “Android 2.1+” devices — this maybe an indication that the next major build is around the corner.
