Barnes & Noble Announces Their Plans for iPad's

It seems that everyone want a piece of Apple's pie, including Barnes&Noble. They announced that they will be developing an app for the iPad that will give customers access to the inventory in the company’s ebookstore.

This app is designed specifically for the iPad, the new eReader will give its customers access to over millions in reading material, eBooks, magazines, and also the Barnes&Noble digital library. (That includes eBooks and content customers have downloaded to their nook eBook reader.)

This is not at all surprising since Barnes&Noble has apps for the iPhone and iPod touch it would be fitting to have an app for the iPad. Unlike the iPhone app the eBookstore would be in competition with Apple's iBookstore which is implemented in the iPad.

Barnes&Noble's eBookstore will give users the opportunity to purchase electronic book material and store it online in their "eBook Library". Users who wish to view content on-the-go will have the choice to download it to their portable devices and view it using the company's eReader applications for a number of different platforms.
