iPhone Os 4.0 beta 1 was reported to be a bit buggy and developers were hoping for more stability with beta 2. Based on initial reports the new beta version of iPhone OS 4 includes some changes and bug fixes.
Apple has changed the time limit for task completion process, which is one of the services available to developers for the multitasking feature from 5 minutes to 10 minutes. It means third party iPhone apps will be able to execute a task for 10 minutes in the background. Apple had given an example of uploading photos to your Flickr account as an example.
We also heard that there was a major bug found in Beta2 - Users are unable to save screenshots and photos in the Camera Roll. Camera app also freezes on taking photos. So, if you want to have these features availalbe we recommend to stay with beta 1. However, you can still take screenshots using Xcode.
IMPORTANT: you’ll need your device UDID registered via dev’s account in order to activate the beta.
