Prepare Your iPad\iPhone\iPodTouch For Future Jailbreaks [Part2]

 

A well known member of the iPhone Jailbreak Community iH8Sn0w, has released a nifty utility called Auto SHSH in prepration of the future of iPad\iPhone\iPodTouch jailbreak. iHateSn0w is also known for developing utilities like Sn0wBreeze jailbreak, and f0recast tool which tells you the jailbreak status of your device.

Recently we shared a guide on how to save your ECID and SHSH on file for iPhone 3.1.3 which was a manual process and involved many steps. AutoSHSH has made life easier for all those interested in grabbing SHSH blobs for their devices with a single click.

For those who don’t know - Apple added a new security system called ECID (Exclusive Chip ID). iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 2G MC and almost every upcoming iDevice is affected by this security. If the latest firmware for iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, and iTouch 2G MC is applied to the iDevice without having SHSH on file, the possibility of future jailbreak and the ability of downgrading to the older firmware is lost. But if you have ECID SHSH saved for an older firmware, you’ll always be able to restore back to that firmware and then jailbreak your iPhone.
