T-Mobile Garminfone Set To Release In June For $200

If you were one of the people not entirely taken with the LG Ally on Verizon, how about a different Android smartphone this month? T-Mobile has announced pricing and availability for the Garminfone, the touchscreen GPS-centric handset unveiled last month. The handset is set to drop in June with a $199.99 price tag with a new two-year agreement.

So far there isn’t any preorder page, though you can sign up for more information when T-Mobile has it. The Garminfone is the latest collaborative effort of Garmin and ASUS and packs a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, GPS, and the company’s own custom UI, intended to make in-car use more straightforward. Real-time weather, traffic updates, a huge Points of Interest database, and automatic re-routing are amongst the list of features one might enjoy. Whether it’s worth the $200 remains to be seen.
