Apple's big iPad launch is just days away and consumers are bursting at the seam with excitement, the hype is just undeniable.
Best Buy has decided to get in on the action. They will be the only retailer to sell the iPad WiFi model. With the launch date one week away Best Buy has began prepping the store and its employees for this huge event. Unfortunately all Best Buy locations won’t carry the iPad. This is only for Best Buy stores offering "store-within-a-store" meaning an Apple section in Best Buy.
Only 675 stores will be carrying this iPad tablet, they are the only ones who offers "store-within-a-store". All other locations including bestbuy.com will “NOT” be carrying the iPad. Due to the lack of competition with other retailers Best Buy has decided not to open its doors ahead of time.
Best Buy should be receiving display materials for the iPad launch sometime next week, there is also indication that two notebooks and an iMac will be displaced from the usual Apple Shop layout to accommodate four iPad demo units and associated accessories for display.
There are reports that indicate the demo units encompass four separate SKUs, while Apple is launching only three Wi-Fi iPad models on April 3rd, which has consumers and others speculating as to what could the fourth model be.
There is also another possibility that the stores could be receiving a 3G model for demo purposes. Apple is also gearing up for next week's iPad launch, many customers today noting preauthorization holds placed on their credit card accounts for iPad pre-orders.
