Apple Seeded iOS4 Gold Master Firmware To Developers

Unlimited Online backup for 4.95/month

At WWDC 2010, Steve Jobs announced that Apple renamed the iPhone OS 4 to iOS 4. Apple released iOS4 Gold Master Build 8A293 for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G and 2G along with SDK 4 to the developers on Moday, June 7th. iOS 4 brings a lot of new features for both developers and users. The iOS 4 firmware is build 8A293 and iOS 4 SDK is build 10M2262. iOS 4 is not available to general public yet.

WARNING:

You DO NOT have to have your UDID registered for this to work, but you DO need iTunes 9.2 beta for it to work, which is currently MAC only. Sorry Windows users! You’ll have to wait for iTunes 9.2 beta.

iPhone jailbreakers and unlocker MUST stay away from iOS 4 until the dev-team or someone releases new jailbreak and unlock tools for iOS firmware. iOS 4 requires iTunes 9.2 which is in beta now and available for developers (MAC) only. If you update your iPhone to 4.0 GOLD it will NOT work on iTunes 9.1 in Windows.

Try SugarSync Free!

NOTE:

iOS 4 fully supports iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G but in iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G some features like multitasking won’t work (unless you jailbreak). Apple has discontinued firmware updates for both iPhone 2G and iTouch 1G. Apple has also announced to release iOS 4 for iPad later this year.

You can download iOS 4 GM from the iPhone Dev Center.
