"Find My iPhone" App Hits iTunes
Apple recently launched its Find My iPhone app on the iTunes App Store, a service which was previously limited to MobileMe's web interface. The App does what the title claims, it will help you find your iPhone (also iPad or iPod Touch) if you lose it or if it gets stolen. This app doesn't go on the lost / stolen device (how would you use it if your device was lost/stolen?) but rather on a different iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, whether its yours or somebody else's. Worried owners login with their MobileMe account to map the missing iDevice and remotely lock the device or wipe the data on it. The app can only be installed on versions 3.1.3 or later devices and is currently available for free. If one of you unfortunate people ends up using it or just test it out, let us know your thoughts by dropping a comment below.
